Upcoming conference

Overview

We are delighted that ACS Athens will host the 2027 AIE World Conference. With its distinguished history of contribution to international education, ACS Athens provides an ideal setting for a conference centred on the theme, Educating for an Unpredictable World: Challenges for International Education. As the historic home of Socrates, Plato and Aristotle, Athens offers a rich and thought-provoking backdrop for dialogue, reflection and generative thinking about how international education can respond to the emerging challenges of today’s world and prepare learners for the future.

The conference will open at 17:00 on Thursday, 30 September 2027, with a welcome reception and introductory presentation. The main programme will begin at 09:00 on Friday, 1 October, and conclude at 16:30 on Saturday, 2 October.

As in previous years, a central feature of the conference will be the strand groups. These sessions will provide opportunities for participants to present on themes connected to the conference focus and to engage in purposeful discussion, debate and professional exchange. Highly valued across AIE conferences for the past 25 years, the strand groups will once again form the cornerstone of our shared time in Athens.

Details regarding proposal submissions will be available on the conference page soon.

Throughout the conference, participants will have many opportunities to network, exchange ideas and experiences, learn more about AIE, and take part in a range of social events.

A full schedule, including suggested accommodation options in Athens, will be published shortly. Participants are responsible for making their own accommodation and travel arrangements.
