Vicki Harte - Administrator, UK

For over 20 years Vicki’s professional experience has predominantly been working in higher education administration, student support and the charity sector in the UK. She has also lived and/or worked in a variety of countries including New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Australia, Switzerland and Italy. 

Vicki has an FdSc Development Geography degree and a BSc (Hons) Geography degree – First Class, focusing on human geography and international development, specifically working in the development sector and exploring international and comparative education. Vicki’s field research included a study on the education provision for Deaf students in Phnom Penh, Cambodia and the role of UNRWA/UNESCO in refugee education in Jordan.

She also holds an MSc International Development from Bristol University where she again focused on education, development and the third sector. Her dissertation looked at the role of education policy in addressing intergenerational disadvantage in indigenous Australian families.

Alongside her role as administrator for the Alliance for International Education she also is an administrator for a women’s refugee and asylum-seeking charity in Bristol, UK. The charity is the only multi-ethnic, multi-faith organisation which specifically targets the needs of refugee women and is directly governed by women of the refugee and asylum-seeking community.
