Dr Jack Levy, AIE Trustee - Director of the Lesley University Teacher/Parent Certificate Program, USA

Dr. Jack Levy is the Director of the Lesley University Teacher/Parent Certificate Program. The program brings together immigrant parents and teachers in support of children who are English Language Learners (ELLs).

In 2004 Jack was named Emeritus Professor of International/Multicultural Education at George Mason University (GMU). While at GMU he developed and implemented FASTTRAIN, a program that has prepared hundreds of successful international school teachers since its inception in 1990. He has also served as a professor of education and department chair at the University of Massachusetts Boston, as well as the director of the National Clearinghouse for English Language Acquisition (NCELA), at George Washington University. 

During the past four decades Jack has been involved in teaching, professional development and research in international education, multiculturalism and the education of English Language Learners (ELLs). He is the co-editor of the Journal of Research in International Education, and joined with Jeff Thompson and Mary Hayden in editing the Sage Handbook of Research in International Education (1st and 2nd eds).
